SF Street Art Map

The fine folks over at Fecal Face started up a collaborative San Francisco Street Art map.
This is the kind of thing that could be potentially really cool as long as people take a little bit of effort and contribute. Take a look at what's there now, add your favorite tags, throw-ups, burners, wheatpastes, murals, etc., and maybe find something new.

Wow! If you have any interest at all in 80s and early 90s punk, hip hop, and skateboarding then get yourself over 941 Geary Gallery stat to check out the currently running Glen E. Friedman show "Fuck You All." Amongst a number of beautifully rendered photos of this eras icons (virtually baby-aged mind you), you will also find a few magnificent collaboration pieces with Shepard Fairey. Below are a few snaps I took at the opening this past Saturay, although it does no justice to this exhibition. This is one not to miss:

SF Giants 2010 World Champs

Here's the scene in the Lower Haight after the Giants won the World Series last night.  I didn't stick around for too long, but as you're all aware this sort of thing went on all night long all over the city.  And even got a little out of hand in some areas (property damage? really?)  Anyway, I hope you all got to enjoy this is some fashion or another.

Free Aesop Rock Show Tomorrow

Jimminey Crapstars, it's been an unbelievable month! And now I find out that Aesop Rock is doing a free show tomorrow at the ZeroFriends pop-up shop on Fillmore next to Upper Playground (and very close to my dwelling)!  Make sure if you plan to go to get there early as it's guaranteed to fill up fast.  Amazing artist Alex Pardee will be in attendance of course, and from the looks of it Jeremy Fish may make an appearance too.  Details from Upper Playground below:



"Sadly, the two month run of the Zerofriends pop-up store on Fillmore is coming to an end. But fittingly for this Halloween weekend, we’re throwing a goodbye bash with the Zerofriends crew featuring a performance by Aesop Rock and Cage. Alex Pardee and another bearded artist who draws creepy things will most likely be in attendance as well…
It’s all going down this Saturday, October 30th at 5pm at the Zerofriends store at 248 Fillmore Street. Beware, though, the shop has VERY limited capacity and only the first 50 people in line will be guaranteed a spot inside. The Zerofriends store will be open from 12pm-3pm that day and will open it’s doors for the concert at 4:45pm."

Lower Haight Mural Project - In Progress

I went down to Haight and Laguna yesterday to make a small contribution to the community portion of the Mural that's going up on the old UC Berkeley building. I managed to snap some pictures of the project in progress on Saturday before the rain came and then a few more on Monday when they resumed.
