This past Friday we checked out some of the neighby-ho gallery openings, and my, my, my what fun it was! We ran through Fifty24SF, D Structure, and Lower Haters - check the detailed photo run down below:
First up was the main event, Porous Walker's
Haricots Magiques opening at Fifty24SF Gallery's new space directly adjacent to Upper Playground.
Inside and out it was a wild scene, tons of great people, great art, and great entertainment! Not to mention complimentary beers and popcorn!!!
Porous' art is absurdly amusing. He's definitely got his own style. And while it may not be as detailed as Carravagio the time he saves on each individual piece is probably what allows him to come up with such a prolific show.
There was a really great stream-of-consciousness type scroll along one entire wall of the gallery

One of the best things about going to a Porous Walker show is that he doesn't take himself too seriously, as such most of his work is seriously inexpensive. And I'm proud to say this precious gem now belongs to me

Snugglemachine also played and gave out prizes and compliments! What a couple of capital dandy fellows!
There was some other artists' work on display at the show too, but unfortunately I got too drunk to remember names. Here are a couple of great paintings hanging there now (I think one of them is rendered after the likeness of SF's own Jeremy Fish):
Remembering that D Structure was having an opening too, we ran over there next. These guy's have been having some seriously outrageous looking parties going on in their gallery and I'll seem to stop by too late to check it out. Luckily we didn't miss it this time:
