Another Very Bizarre Craigslist Posting

Yet again, here is another strange and disturbing even if it's not real "Missed Connection" posting found on Craiglist this morning:

About 6 years ago, I answered an ad in Austin, TX for a couple who wanted their second child. I followed through with everything they asked of me and by the time we got nice an acquainted with one another, they started having problems between them. They said that they would be in touch and a year later, only one of them called me back. I was not willing to help one woman have a child on her own, as I feel there are enough situations like this presently.

After that instance, I have been in and out of one relationship and still, I have no children of my own. I am totally in support of marriage between people and not just man & woman. I am bisexual as well, but not currently active sexually in this way. I am masculine, athletic, talented in the arts, good looking (not just my opinion) and intellectually charged. I am willing to be canned about any information to do with my health(including HIV test and other STI's), family history, criminal record, mental history etc. I am also an organ donor.

I have had a long time to think about how I would have felt if things would have worked out between me and the last couple and still I feel the same. I want to meet and build a relationship with a happy couple that are either married or consider themselves life partners. I would love to meet friends who can attest to the strength in your relationship and who support your choice to make a baby. I hope this ad reaches the right hearts, as this comes directly from mine.

I am not looking to instruct you on how to raise your child or be around like I am part of the family. All that I ask is that if the child's curiosity peaks later in life, that you are honest about who I am. That is all. I do not want to be the mystery sperm donor if the child wishes to know who I am. Personally, I would prefer to wait until the child was 18 or older, before any such information was revealed.


This is an ad for a man DONATING sperm to a loving, strong and healthy female/female couple. Will consider man/woman couples, but under very specific circumstances if the issue arises.

This keeps getting flagged and I don't understand why.

Requires a writer who can capture the challenges and demands of professional dancing, as well as the raw sex and violence experienced by the dancer on her way up. Would prefer a writer who has dance-related experience especially in ballet, or with knowledge of ballet. Plse send a resume, including education ,experience and ph # .

Missed Connections - And That's How I Found Out I Was Ugly

Is it just me or is there anyone else out there that browses missed connections regularly and never sees a missed connection intended for them?

It's almost a little bit insulting, don't you think?

You know that half the people writing those things are some of the homeliest and grammatically challenged folks around, but that just makes it all the more offensive that no one is pining after you after a brief run-in where you didn't even notice them.

Really, it's not like I'm looking to hook up with anyone (I'm actually currently seeing someone), but some validation from a stranger or two would be nice.  I'm not even narrowing it down to just the opposite sex, I check em all.

Maybe some day.

We Can All Agree Craigslist Is Stupendous

As I'm sure everyone already knows Craigslist if effing fantastic!!!
For as much BS as there is on that site, as long as you understand how to sift through it you will always come out on top.

This weekend I will be picking up a FREE portable dishwasher for my apartment from a fellow who no longer wants it taking up space in his living room. This ultimately solves one of my most hated semi-weekly tasks, washing dishes.

Other things I can attribute to craigslist are as follows:

• My excellently priced apartment in the Lower Haight
• My ridiculously cushy new job
• Endless entertainment from scouring Missed Connections in spare time
• My Free bed frame
• Extra $$ in a series of financially tight moments from selling miscellaneous possessions

None of this would have been possible without Craigslist or a significantly more time and cost intensive endeavor. Who knows what other fruits may be rendered from the glory of this user-based website? All I know is that I'm certain to return and be fulfilled once again, and chances are I won't even know what I was missing until I find it there in the columns of blue and purple links that show me where I've been and where I've yet to venture.

Anyway, I'm sure I don't have to convince you of the richness of Craigslist. I just felt the need to exhult my numerous beneficial experiences using the site. And sure I could gripe about the scams, and countless hours searching for a job that never resulted in even a formed response amongst other (most likely common) complaints but I choose not to as Craigslist has been much more of a benefactor to me than protractor.

So I salute you Craigslist and wish you yet another thriving decade!
